With a lot of big changes at TE for multiple teams this upcoming season it's now time to look at the top fantasy TE for 2023.
No. 1 Travis Kelce
Well, I mean duh. Travis Kelce is in my opinion the best Tight End of all time. I know I probably have some bias in that, but I have never seen someone play the position so consistently and be great while doing it for so many consecutive years. The only worry that both the Chiefs and fantasy owners have is when does it end. Kelce is now 33 years old and has shown no signs of slowing down so far, but as much as I hate to say it, his time for retirement is coming. Unless there is any sort of crazy change for the upcoming season he is still far and away the TE1 for now.

No. 2 George Kittle
Kittle was finally able to put together a healthy season for the first time in a couple of years and he showed out big time. It was also very clear for at least the latter half of the season that Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy and Kittle had a very good connection. It will be interesting to see how everything pans out with all the chaos in the 49ers QB room. regardless I still expect Kittle to produce well with whoever they have at QB similar to what he did last year.
2022 Total Fantasy Points: 200.5
No. 3 Mark Andrews
He's been Lamar Jackson's only major passing game weapon for what feels like forever. Sure, Marquise Brown was in the mix at one point, but he still didn't have as big of impact as Andrews did. He is a great receiving and blocking TE and I expect his production to keep up at the steady pace he has whenever he isn't injured. The injuries have been a bit of a problem over the last several years, but Andrews remains one of the league's best pass catching TEs when on the field.
2022 Total Fantasy Points: 190.5
No. 4 T.J. Hockenson
T.J. Hockenson got traded surprisingly to the division rival of the Lions, the Vikings, and had a great season with both teams. The Vikings offense was electric last year and unless Kirk starts t regress, I expect the team to only continue that trend. Similar to my report on Justin Jefferson, I think this team is going to be involved in a lot of shootouts this year and I expect Hockenson to be a large part of the passing game when those games do occur. With an additional offseason to fully familiarize himself with the offense and work with cousins on timing Expect another great fantasy outing for the former first round pick.
2022 Total Fantasy Points: 215.4
No. 5 Dallas Goedert
Goedert was part of an explosive Eagles offense last year that was only second to the Chiefs in total production. Goedert was a large part of that. The Eagles offense has a ton of weapons at the receiver and running back position, so it allows for Goedert to often times be in isolation which he thrives on due to his size and speed. He showed dominance throughout last season, and I expect him to continue to generally do the same.
2022 Total Fantasy Points: 141.2
No. 6 Pat Freiermuth
Muth is coming off a great season in which he racked up 732 yards and only 2 touchdowns. Kenny Pickett will now take the reins of a Steelers offense that started to flash more signs of life towards the end of the season. With the addition of a tackle and Pickens beginning to develop as well don't be surprised if this unit takes the next step in developing their offense. I expect Muth to be a very large part of that improvement. He came in clutch multiple times for the Steelers on game winning or tying drives.
2022 Total Fantasy Points: 148.2
No. 7 Evan Engram
The Jags were attempting to recover from the disaster that was their 2021 Urban Meyer season, and they did so with flying colors. Trevor Lawrence and the offense as a whole took huge steps towards being a top offense and Engram was a large part of that. Engram had been struggling prior to Jacksonville, but last season he had a breakout performance and was a huge part of the team's success and path to the playoffs. I remember him making several key catches in multiple 3rd down scenarios last season especially his clutch performance against the Jets. Engram finally seems to be more consistently finding his footing compared to his time with the Giants. I think that Trevor Lawerence will take that next step in the upcoming season so look for the offense to remain explosive similar to their playoff performance against the Chargers.
2022 Total Fantasy Points: 176.9
No. 8 Chigoziem Okonkwo
This may come as a surprise to many, but to those who watched any Titans games last year it shouldn't be too much of one. Chig Okonkwo was basically the only reliable receiver that the Titans had last year due to all the injuries and poor depth they had at the actual WR position. The former Maryland Terrapin carried a terrible passing game with a lot of question marks at the QB position. He also lined up in the back field a couple times so look for this offense to try to use him creatively.
2022 Total Fantasy Points: 97.2
No. 10 Dalton Schultz
The Texans decided to pick up Schultz during 2023 free agency it has been one of my favorite additions that they had outside of their draft his offseason. I think that C.J. Stroud will have a decent rookie season, but he is going to need help which is exactly what Schultz is. I expect Schultz to possibly produce more than what he ever did in Dallas for the 2023 season.
2022 Total Fantasy Points: 142.7
No. 10 Darren Waller
Darren Waller has been banged up for the last couple of seasons now and many are hoping that he can now have a full healthy season even though he is on the wrong side of 30. Waller produces well when he isn't hurt and he is a nightmare matchup against any DB or LB he gets put up against, but when he is hurt, he struggles to produce at a high level that Fantasy owners are expecting. He joined the Giants this offseason who are in dire need of any sort of receiving help so fantasy owners can hold out hope that if he remains healthy, he'll be a big part of the Giants' offense. Daboll always seems to have a game plan to get his TE involved.
2022 Total Fantasy Points: 84.8
Where is Kyle Pitts????????
I expect someone to ask this question while reading this list as it seems year after that we hype Pitts up to be a consensus top TE. I think he is overrated and has been that way since his days as a Florida Gator. Sure, he is a decent player and an athletic freak, but he was drafted way too high in any sort of fantasy draft that people have done within the last 2 years. He only had one game over 10 points last year prior to his injury. Maybe Pitts has a bounce back year with their extremely questionable QB situation, but I personally think he will continue to put up pedestrian numbers at best.
Song of the Day: Come and Get Your Love by Redbone
In honor of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 releasing this past May, and it being the final installment in the series, I chose Come and Get Your Love as today's song of the day. I remember when the original movie came out nearly a half decade ago and the beginning of the movie Star Lord danced around a ruined temple was one of the most memorable movie scenes that I've ever seen. The Native American group released the hit song back in 1974 where it charted very well, but with Guardians of the Galaxy releasing in late 2014 many people especially of my generation were properly introduced to the song. I was actually surprised to find that the song did not chart following the movie's release. Hopefully this won't spoil the movie for anyone, but they replayed the song in the latest movie as well to end it. I thought it was the perfect ending.
